Haller Lake Music Series

Friday, November 18, 7:30 pm

Dr. Quinton Morris enjoys a multifaceted career as a concert violinist, chamber musician, professor, artistic director and founder of the Young Eight, a touring string octet. He is a Professor of Music at Seattle University and has a rigorous international touring schedule in addition to his university obligations. He won a 2011 Seattle Mayor's Arts Award, which recognizes artists, arts and cultural organizations and community members who enrich their communities through the arts. He has been called the Northwest's newest classical music star.

This fall, Morris is gearing up for the biggest performance of his life--a solo concert at Carnegie Hall next January--with a few local performances in the Seattle/Tacoma area. One is Friday, November 18, at 7:30 pm at Haller Lake; he will perform violin sonatas by Brahms, Mendelssohn and Saint-Georges with accompanist Erin Chung. Dr Chung, a native of Korea, studied piano at the Eastman School of Music and received her doctorate from the University of Washington. You will enjoy hearing these two personable, talented musicians.
